SHS | ON TVL TRACK

    The Senior High School (SHS) program with a Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track is designed to provide students with skills and knowledge in specific technical and vocational fields, preparing them for immediate employment or for further education and training in a specialized area.

    The TVL track provides a practical and skills-oriented education, offering students the opportunity to gain valuable competencies for immediate employment or further education in technical-vocational fields. It aligns with the goal of addressing the demand for skilled workers in various industries.

  The SHS program has a Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track, which has four strands: Agri-Fishery Arts, Home Economics (HE), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Industrial Arts. These are aligned with Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) in Grades 7-10. Each TVL strand offers various specializations that may or may not have a National Certificate (NC) equivalent from TESDA. 

Career Opportunities:

    Upon completion of the TVL track, students may pursue various career paths and employment opportunities immediately or after further education and training. Career opportunities include:

  1. Technical and Trade Careers: Employment in industries such as construction, automotive, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades.

  2. Entrepreneurship: Starting and managing their own businesses, applying the entrepreneurial skills learned in the track.

  3. ICT Careers: Employment in the IT industry, including roles in computer hardware servicing, software development, and technical support.

  4. Health Care Services: Careers in caregiving, wellness massage, and other allied health services.

  5. Agriculture and Fisheries: Employment in agriculture, aquaculture, and related fields.

  6. Manufacturing and Industry: Opportunities in manufacturing and production, utilizing skills in industrial arts.

  7. Service Industry: Employment in service-oriented sectors, such as food and beverage, hospitality, and customer service.


Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track Strands

    Below is a list of all the Technology and Livelihood education and the Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track Specializations, their prescribed number of hours, and their prerequisites and sample curriculum maps:

TVL Track: Agricultural-Fishery Arts (AFA) Strand

    This TVL component consists of specializations equivalent to qualifications under agriculture and fishery sectors. Students with agri-fishery arts specializations will be able to demonstrate necessary skills/competencies and values on the cultivation of plants and animal production to harvest food and other products using available technologies on farming and on raising, harvesting, and capturing fish and other aquatic resources. Schools that offer these specializations must have adequate facilities for students’ laboratory classes.

TVL Track: Home Economics (HE) Strand

    This TVL component consists of specializations equivalent to qualifications under garments, tourism, health, processed food and beverages, and social and other community development service sectors. Students with home economics specializations will be able to demonstrate the necessary skills, competencies, and values in taking care of oneself and one’s family, and in providing efficient services to others and to the community.

TVL Track: Industrial Arts (IA) Strand

    This TVL component consists of specializations equivalent to qualifications under automotive and land transport, construction, electronics, furniture and fixture, metal and engineering, and utilities sectors. Students with industrial arts specializations will be able to demonstrate the skills, competencies, and values in providing repair and maintenance services, installation, manual craftsmanship, and machine safety using available industrial and engineering technologies.

    This TVL component consists of specializations equivalent to qualifications under the information and communication technologies sector. Students with ICT specializations will be able to demonstrate the skills, competencies, and values in effective application, use, and management of technology in the context of system designing and customer service.
